§ 53. Sir A. Hurdasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if there has been any recovery yet in the market prices for beef cattle; and how the cost of the price guarantee for the first quarter of 1963 compares with the cost in the same period in 1962.
§ Mr. SoamesThe steep fall in prices of a few weeks ago appears to have been checked, and the average price during the last few weeks have remained fairly steady. Guarantee payments on cattle in January-March this year were about £9 million compared to £5.4 million in 1962.
