asked Her Majesty's Government:

With regard to the operations of the Export Credits Guarantee Department, what, over the past three years, has been the relative loss ratio experience between—

  1. (a) South American countries as a whole;
  2. (b) European Iron Curtain countries as a whole.

It would be against the commercial interests of the Department to disclose its credit insurance liabilities on individual markets or groups of markets, or to make public its relative loss experience, however calculated, upon them.
