§ 78. Mr. Sorensenasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what incidents have taken place during the past four weeks along the border between the Aden Protectorates and the Yemen; whether Yemenis have penetrated into Protectorate territory; and what British military facilities have been extended to other than British units.
§ Mr. FisherThe border has remained quiet during the past four weeks, but there have been some intrusions over the Federation of South Arabia by foreign aircraft coming from the direction of the Yemen. The British representative in the Yemen has been instructed to lodge a vigorous protest. No Yemenis have penetrated into Protectorate territory by land, apart from deserters from the Yemeni Republican Forces and some political refugees. There are no foreign military units in the Protectorate and no support has been extended to any outside it.
