61. Mr. Lawson

asked the President of the Board of Trade what is the number of buildings at the former naval stores, Carfin, Lanarkshire, that has been converted for industrial uses; what employment they give; and how many of the buildings remain to be converted.

Five of the seven buildings are being converted for industrial use. Of the remaining two, one has been leased to the Lanarkshire education authority for use as an apprentice training school and one is temporarily being used for storage. More than 600 jobs will be provided.
