§ 54. Mr. J Howardasked the Minister of Transport what plans he has for the improvement of road communications with Southampton, in view of the Rochdale Committee's proposals for this port.
§ Mr. MarplesThe Rochdale Committee's recommendation was that the road communications of Southampton with London, the Midlands and the West should be improved. The London-Basingstoke motorway, together with appropriate improvements to A.33, will in due course provide an excellent route to London. I am considering what should be done about the link with the Midlands and the West.
