asked the Postmaster-General when he will announce Her Majesty's Government's decisions regarding cigarette advertising on commercial television, following the Royal College of Physicians recommendations eight months ago.

The present position, as my hon. Friend, the Assistant Postmaster-General, informed the House on 10th July, 1962, is that rules are now in operation which restrict cigarette advertising on independent television until after about 9 p.m., and which ban certain methods of cigarette advertising.
