§ Q12. Mr. Worsleyasked the Prime Minister whether he will discuss with the Japanese Prime Minister, when he visits this country, the export incentives given to the Japanese wool industry and other industries, which are contrary to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
§ The Prime MinisterI am glad to say that we have had an assurance from the Japanese Government to the effect that they intend to allow their legislation providing tax remission on export income to lapse when it expires on 31st March, 1964, and to sign the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade Declaration about export subsidies by that date.
