§ Mr. P. ThomasUnited Nations operations during this period have been confined to regular patrolling, with the object of maintaining their freedom of movement. Central Government troops did not take part in these operations.

Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Lord Privy Seal what information is available to him through United Nations sources regarding the number of Central Government troops in Katanga; where they are stationed; what their instructions are; and, in view of the importance of avoiding provocation, what consideration is being given to their repatriation.
§ Mr. P. ThomasOne battalion of A.N.C. troops is stationed under United Nations command at Kamina. Their instructions are that they shall serve as part of the United Nations force, and I am not aware that since their arrival their presence at the base has given rise to any provocation.
