HC Deb 02 November 1962 vol 666 c10W
Mr. Beaney

asked the Minister of Power if he is aware that the statistical information now being given by the National Coal Board is less informative, especially with regard to costs, earnings, and area details, than their former statistics; and if he will issue a general direction to the Board requiring them to publish fuller details of their operations.

Mr. Wood

This is a matter for the National Coal Board. The Board's view is that the detailed analysis of costs, proceeds and outputs is not of enough general interest to justify its continued publication twice a year. Detailed statistics will continue to be published annually. I hope the hon. Member will agree that the new Interim Statement of Revenue Results presents the essential information more clearly than before.
