§ 4. Mr. Mitchisonasked the Minister of Defence whether he has now considered the recommendations of the Committee on the Management and Control of Research and Development, submitted to the Minister for Science on 5th July, 1961, so far as they relate to defence research and development; which of them he accepts; what steps are being taken to implement them; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. WatkinsonI accept the main recommendations of the Committee as regards defence research and development. In particular the procedures of the Defence Research Policy Committee for controlling the defence research and development programme have been revised in the light of the Report. Some of the more detailed recommendations are still under discussion with the interested Departments.
