§ Sir D. EcclesI announced last July that allocations for minor works would have to be reduced as part of the Government's financial measures. The original162W allocations covering all minor works to the Gateshead L.E.A. of £15,000 for 1961–62 and £10,000 for 1962–63 have been replaced by one of £20,000 for the eighteen months ending on 31st March, 1963. The Authority has discretion to carry out works costing less than £2,000 without counting them against the revised allocation.
