asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will provide statistics showing the amount of crime in England and Wales in 1961 as compared with 1960.

Provisional figures show that the number of persons found guilty of indictable offences increased by 11.5 per cent. The increase among persons aged 17 and under 21 was 11.1 per cent.; among juveniles aged 14 and under 17 it was 12.1 per cent.
