HC Deb 07 June 1962 vol 661 c97W
Mr. N. McLean

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what new arrangements have been made at Kyle Ferry for dealing with the increasing number of vehicles during the summer tourist season.

Mr. Maclay

The slipways at both sides were improved last year; a parking area was provided at Kyle; and an additional ferry—making four in all—was brought into service.

I understand that the British Transport Commission are satisfied that these increased facilities were quite adequate for the traffic last year and that no further improvements are at present under consideration.
