Johnsonasked the Minister of Defence how many officers of the three Armed Services, including the Indian Armed Services, retired since the end of the war; and how many officers of the three Armed Services, including the Indian Armed Services, over and under the age of 71 years, respectively, have commuted part of their retired pay since the end of the war.
§ Mr. WatkinsonIt is estimated that about 54,000 officers have gone to re-tired nay since the end of the war. About 20,000 officers have commuted—all but about 100 being under the age of 71.
