asked the Minister of Health how many hospital authorities were making use of contract radiography services at the latest available date; and if he will estimate the annual cost, and the saving that would accrue, if these services were carried out by radiographers in the authorities' direct employ.

As regards savings, I would refer the hon. Member to my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary's reply to the hon. Member for Stoke-on-Trent, North (Mrs. Slater) on 11th December last. I am obtaining the remaining figures and will write to the hon. Member.
