§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterYes. The Government accept the Committee's recommendations, made after consultation with the universities concerned, for raising by 10 per cent. the intake of medical students. Grants for the capital and recurrent expenditure required, as estimated by the Committee, will be issued, and will be additional to the capital and recurrent grants to universities already authorised.
