80. Mr. Gresham Cookeasked the Minister of Aviation how the noise level of the Vickers VC10 will compare in operation with that of the Boeing 707; and what steps will be taken between now and its coming into use at London Airport to quieten the VC10.
Mr. WoodhonseIt is expected that the VC10 will be less noisy than the Boeing 707. Possible methods of reducing aircraft noise are the subject of constant research and study; and advantage would be taken, in the case of the VC10, of any possibilities of improvement that might be found practicable before it comes into service.
