Mr. Hilton

asked the Minister of Transport (1) when the money for the new Bridge at Downham Market, Norfolk, is to be made available;

(2) if he will state the date on which work on the proposed new bridge at Downham Market, Norfolk, is to commence.

Mr. Marples

I am prepared to issue grant as soon as the scheme is ready and approved. I have not yet received the detailed proposals of the Norfolk County Council which is the highway authority and I cannot therefore forecast when it will be possible to start work.
