HC Deb 04 July 1962 vol 662 c72W
Mr. Crosland

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that the reception of British Broadcasting Corporation television in Grimsby has recently been exceptionally poor; and what steps he proposes to take, whether by means of a booster or otherwise, to remedy this situation.

Mr. Bevins

Reception on the lower channels of Band I of the B.B.C. television programme at this time of the year is subject to unavoidable interference from television stations on the Continent. I have approved the B.B.C.'s proposal to build a satellite TV station for Grimsby in Stage 3 of their satellite station scheme.
