HC Deb 26 February 1962 vol 654 cc107-8W
Dr. A. Thompson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, in view of his responsibility for attracting new indus- try to south-eastern Scotland, he will exempt all industrial traffic from payment of tolls on the Forth Road Bridge, or make arrangements for reduced tolls for this traffic.

Mr. Maclay

I cannot give any assurance about tolls to be charged for different kinds of traffic which will use the bridge. The first stage in the process of determining the toll schedule is for the Forth Road Bridge Joint Board to submit a draft schedule of toll charges to me. This it is required to do not more than twelve months and not less than six months before the probable date of opening the bridge.
