62. Mr. Mitchison

asked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science whether the recommendations submitted by the Committee on the Management and Control of Research and Development on 5th July, 1961, have now been considered; which of those summarised at the end of the Report are accepted, so far as they affect his Department, the research councils or the Atomic Energy Authority; what steps are being taken to implement them; and whether he will make a statement.

Upon publication of the Report my noble Friend asked the Research Councils and the Atomic Energy Authority to consider it and to inform him of the action which they have taken or propose to take.

I propose to make a further statement when this information is available.
