HC Deb 20 February 1962 vol 654 cc29-30W
82. Mr. Prentice

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs how many local authorities will sustain a greater loss than £104,000 as the result of the latest revision by his Department of the transitional payments under the Local Government Act, 1958.

Dr. Hill

Two have more than that sum to pay in total but both were already due to pay the greater part of it as a result of the second calculation, a year earlier. Expressed as rate poundages, the liabilities of both are less than those of over twenty other authorities. All these payments go in relief of other local areas.
