§ Mr. Woollamasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer to what extent he will relate, either to the balance of payments figures or to the exchange reserves figures, sums due to this country under credit-financed exports and sums due for repayment under economic assistance loans.
§ Mr. BarberThe total amount of outstanding export credit is not known. Sums due for repayment, at various dates up to about 1990, under economic assistance loans amounted to approximately £290 million on 31st March last. Repayments, partially for the former and fully for the latter, are included in the balance of payments estimates, e.g. Cmnd. 1506.
