I understand that these interview reports, which usefully add a training college point of view to the report from the candidate's school are of considerable help in the subsequent handling of candidates who are not immediately successful. As there are so many colleges and candidates (141 and 23,000 in 1961–62) some such system appears desirable if subsequent interviewing is to kept to manageable proportions for both the colleges and the candidates.
