HC Deb 20 December 1962 vol 669 c210W
Mr. Ross

asked the President of the Board of Trade what representations he has received from the Irvine Valley Development Committee about the need for industrial development; and what reply he has made.

Mr. Erroll

The Irvine Valley Development Committee of the Scottish Lace and Textile Workers Union has asked me to take action to secure the re-opening of a number of vacant factories in the Irvine Valley. The Committee has been told that the existence of these factories will be drawn to the attention of industrialists with suitable projects. The Board of Trade must, however, give priority to the development districts in steering new industrial projects.
