HC Deb 14 December 1962 vol 669 c122W
Commander Pursey

asked the Minister of Transport what road improvements and other plans he has under consideration for Hull; and what approvals he will now give in order to start the work and help to reduce unemployment in the city and its environs.

Mr. Marples

Classified road improvement schemes costing £920,000 are planned to start in Hull during the next two years.

The schemes are as follows:

Year Scheme Estimated Cost
£
1962–63 Cleveland St., improvement—Stage I 80,000
1963–64 Cleveland St., improvement—Stage II 50,000
1963–64 Anlaby Road bridge 790,000
Total £920,000

These schemes form part of the normal road programme.

I am not at present proposing to authorise any additional schemes in Hull.
