Mr. Swinglerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the fact that it is now known that more than 2,430 sixth-formers with minimum entrance qualifications for university failed to obtain places this year and that many of these students will increase the competition next year, if, without waiting 93W for the Robbins Report, he will now consult the University Grants Committee on the need to accelerate the programme of expansion next year.
