Mr. Warbeyasked the Prime Minister if he is aware that the French proposals for co-operation with Germany in the development of an independent nuclear deterrent are in breach of the undertaking given by those countries to the United Kingdom in the revised Brussels Treaty; and if he will draw the attention of President de Gaulle to this in their forthcoming discussions.
§ The Prime MinisterI know of no French proposals for co-operation with Germany over the development of an independent nuclear deterrent. The second part of the Question therefore does not arise.
