Mr. Danceasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs how many requests he has received from local authorities for loan sanction for the provision of community facilities; and how many requests he has received from 90W voluntary organisations for grants for a similar purpose.
§ Sir K. JosephSince the beginning of 1961 I have received 56 requests from local authorities for loan sanction for the provision of these facilities under the Physical Training and Recreation Act, 1937. They may also be provided as part of a housing scheme but I regret I have no figures of such cases. The question of grants to voluntary organisations is one for my right hon. Friend the Minister of Education.
