asked the Minister of Labour if he will state the average adult male earnings for each of the five years to the latest convenient date.

For the industries covered by the Ministry's half-yearly earnings inquiries the average weekly earnings of adult male manual workers for the latest available date, April, 1962, and for the previous five years, are as follows:

April, 1959 262s. 11d.
April, 1958 253s. 2d.
April, 1957 241s. 6d.
