§ 85. Mrs. Braddockasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs how many houses are scheduled for demolition in Liverpool; how many are unfit and requiring major repairs; and how many families registered on the Liverpool housing list are awaiting housing.
§ Sir K. JosephIn 1955 the city council reported that they had 26,959 unfit houses to be demolished and 61,274 to be repaired. Since then, 8,003 houses have been demolished.
I am informed that there are 46,724 applicants on the council's present waiting list.
