asked the President of the Board of Trade (1) on which site the advance factory is to be built in Sunderland;

(2) what progress has been made regarding the building of an advance factory in Sunderland.

Inquiries for a site are in hand, in consultation with Sunderland Corporation, but I cannot give details until we have reached preliminary agreement. Preparatory work on the plans for the factory has also been started and my right hon. Friend hopes it will be completed by the end of next year.
