§ 62. Mr. Fletcherasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he is aware that when the revised rateable values of dwelling-houses come into operation, a large number of premises now protected by the Rent Act will, as a result of increases in rateable value, automatically become decontrolled unless the provisions of the Rent Act are amended in this respect; and whether he will introduce amending legislation accordingly.
Dr. HillThe rateable value for determining whether or not a house remains in control is that shown in the Valuation List at 7th November, 1956, irrespective of any subsequent revaluation. Similarly the rent limit will continue to be based on the 1956 gross value.
