HC Deb 17 April 1962 vol 658 c46W
87. Mr. J. P. W. Mallalieu

asked the Postmaster-General what are the methods by which preference is given to fully paid business mail at Christmas time.

Miss Pike

At despatching offices readily recognisable business letters—for example batches of meter-franked items—are wherever practicable dealt with before Christmas cards and other lower paid mail. At delivery offices, the deliveries in the central business areas are generaly completed more quickly than elsewhere.
