HC Deb 17 April 1962 vol 658 cc61-2W
Mr. Boyden

asked the Minister of Labour how many coal mines, quarries, factories or other industrial premises, respectively, in the Bishop Auckland constituency have been closed since 1st January, 1960; and how many were employed in each type of undertaking.

Mr. Hare

According to information received by my local offices, three coal mines and one factory. The number of workers employed in the coal mines at the begining of the years in which they were closed was 169; the normal labour force at the factory was 25.
