55. Mr. Kelley

asked the Minister of Power what proportion of the global sum of compensation for colliery assets is represented by the capital value of units which have ceased production since 1st May, 1947.

For the reason my right hon. Friend gave in answering the hon. Member's Question on 12th March, the capital value of pits which have been closed is not known. Compensation units generally consisted of more than one pit together with associated assets. No record is available of entire units which have ceased production.
