Pitmanasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will give an assurance that manufacturers of machines and of business systems and publishers of mathematical series who will be affected by a change to decimalisation will be consulted before a date is chosen and announced for the commencement of any such change, in order to avoid the preparation of new mathematical tables, business machines and systems based on any criteria to be abandoned in the foreseeable future.
§ Sir E. BoyleIf a decision to decimalise the currency should be taken, consideration will be given, in the planning and introduction of any new system, to the need to avoid any unnecessary additional burden on the economy.
