§ Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he is aware of the increase in the number of families awaiting rehousing by local authorities in Wales; and what plans he has to help these local authorities to speed up the provision of council houses.
Dr. HillI have no evidence that the number of families in urgent need of accommodation in Wales is increasing. Where there are urgent needs, the provisions of the Housing Act, 1961, which make subsidy more widely available, will help authorities to provide for those needs.
