§ 78. Mr. Currieasked the Postmaster-General what plans he has made for relaxing the existing restrictions applicable to the foreign film quota in the event of the present strike in the Independent television companies reducing the number of programmes available for transmission.
§ Mr. BevinsSection 3 (1) (d) of the Television Act provides that it shall be the duty of the Independent Television Authority to satisfy themselves that, so far as possible, proper proportions of the recorded and other matter included in the programmes are of British origin and of British performance. That remains the position whatever the circumstances.
