§ 52. Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of increased traffic jams at week-ends, he will consider following the French practice of excluding certain forms of heavy goods lorries from the roads at week-ends.
§ Mr. HayI understand that most other European countries (including France) do not have any such general restrictions. Since heavy goods traffic in this country is much less at week-ends than at other times, we are not prepared to impose restrictions as suggested by my hon. Friend.
