§ 62. Mr. Holtasked the Minister of Transport, in view of the increase each summer in road traffic along the A.6 between Preston and Lancaster, what progress he proposes to make this winter with the building of the projected motorway between these two towns.
§ Mr. HayThe essential preparatory work for the motorway is being carried out as quickly as possible. We are making good progress with outstanding statutory processes and the detailed design. Negotiations for land acquisition have started, and although I cannot yet give a firm date for starting construction, we plan to begin construction as soon as all these processes have been completed.
