HC Deb 10 May 1961 vol 640 c56W
Mr. McAdden

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he will state the number of national and local government officials who are authorised to carry out inspections and investigations on private property, without the necessity of first obtaining a search warrant or other permit;

(2) if he will state the number of Government Departments, including nationalised boards and departments of local government, which are authorised to enter private property, without the necessity of obtaining specific authority of the owner or tenant.

Sir E. Boyle

I am collecting the information relating to officials of Government Departments and will circulate it with the OFFICIAL REPORT; but I am not in a position to furnish information in regard to officials of Local Government or Nationalised Boards.
