Of the 4,871,743 men included in the inquiry into the distribution of earnings of full-time manual workers held in respect of the second pay week in October, 1960, 468,224 or 9.6 per cent. earned less than £10 in the week of the return: of the 1,041,917 women concerned 907,556 or 87.1 per cent. earned less than £10.
