§ Sir D. Campbellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the fact that Lieut.-Colonel and Mrs. Wills were living abroad when the United Kingdom Government were disposing of such firearms as had been taken into safe keeping by 125W the Royal Irish Constabulary and, in consequence, knew nothing of any attempt by the Government to get in touch with the owners of such arms or that the firearms belonging to Lieut.-Colonel Wills were being disposed of, he will now consider making an ex gratia payment in lieu of the return of the firearms upon presentation to him of the signed receipt by Mrs. Wills, the widow of Lieut.-Colonel Wills.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerNo. I would refer my hon. Friend to the Answers that I gave to his earlier Questions on 14th March, and, on the disposal of surrendered firearms, on 16th February and 7th March.
