§ 16. Mr. G. M. Thomsonasked the Minister of Education whether he is satisfied with the amount of information that is available to him regarding the teaching of science and mathematics in schools in England and Wales; and whether he will initiate a sample survey of a cross-section of schools to obtain fuller information.
§ Sir D. EcclesNo. This is one of the subjects which is being considered in the review of my Ministry's statistics. H.M. Inspectors give me a great deal of information about the trends in the curriculum, and I do not wish to ask for too many statistics which all add to the work of local education authorities and teachers.
