asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the number of grants under the Horticulture Act, 1960, which have been approved involving the heating of hothouses by oil-firing methods.

The total number of applications involving the heating of glasshouses (or buildings used for growing mushrooms or rhubarb) approved under the Horticulture Improvement Scheme by the 31st March, 1961, was 380, of which 165 were concerned with hearting by oil-burning appliances.
