HC Deb 30 March 1961 vol 637 c159W
61. Mr. Dodds

asked the Secretary of State for War how many of his Department's houses were without tenants at the latest convenient date; how many have been empty for over six months; what is the longest period a house has been untenanted; where the empty houses are situated; and, in view of the shortage of houses, what is to be done with them.

Mr. Profumo

In general quarters are only empty on a change of occupant, when they are being modernised, or when we are getting rid of them. I shall write to the hon. Gentleman with details as soon as possible.
