§ Mr. Gurdenasked the Minister of Education what was the response to his recent appeal for fifty-five United Kingdom teachers to staff vacation courses for local teachers at centres in Nigeria this summer, following the recommendation contained in the Report of the Ashby Commission.
§ Sir D. EcclesThe response was most encouraging. Over 2,000 applications were received within a fortnight of the appearance of the advertisement. The final selection will be made on the basis of interviews which are being conducted this week in London and in Edinburgh.
