§ 81. Mr. J. Howardasked the Minister of Aviation on what authority British European Airways announced that services were being transferred to Hurn from Southampton, Eastleigh, on 19th March; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. ThorneycroftBritish European Airways are licensed to use Hurn as from 30th March. The Corporation did not ask me to approve its anticipating this date by transferring its Dakota services from Eastleigh to Hurn ten days earlier, but after discussion with the Chairman I accept that disproportionate inconvenience would be caused to the public if the services were transferred back to Eastleigh for the few intervening days.
