asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty how much Argentine beef was purchased for the Royal Navy last year: and what was the estimated saving in cost compared with the purchase of home-produced meat.

The Admiralty specifies acceptable sources of meat supplies for the Navy; Argentina is one of these sources. The amount to be supplied from any source is, subject to quality control by the Admiralty, left to the contractor. I regret, therefore, that the information required is not available.
